2017 has certainly been a year of big changes. In March, Mark Burchfield stepped down from his role of CEO for the CableCom Group and handed over the reins to Tim Pilcher. Since Tim has taken on this new role, there have been a huge number of positive changes.

We welcomed WarwickNet to the ever growing CableCom family. Since being part of the group, WarwickNet have nearly doubled in size, and will soon have a brand new office to call their own. In the meantime, we have welcomed many of these new faces in the CableCom Office!

Glide experienced a brand refresh, saying goodbye to “Bills made Simple” and hello to “Hate Bills, Love Glide”. And over at Campuslife, we saw the launch of 360 degree videos, making accommodation and campus tours more engaging for students.

This year has also seen plenty of fundraising. Staff at CableCom raised a whopping £22,000 for the Children’s Hospice South West with a number of memorable events, including a 24 mile walk, the Leeds 10K, football matches, pub quizzes, cake sales, the Monster Run, and the Summer Charity Ball.

2017 was a fantastic year for all 4 businesses, with key achievements including:

  • CableCom being shortlisted for 3 ISPA Awards
  • Adding 14,500 rooms to our portfolio
  • Completing over 200 activations, installing approximately 12,000 wireless access points
  • Campuslife 'welcomed' over 60,000 students, with the Browzer team writing over 450 stories
  • 247 films were produced by the Campuslife team, who also launched 360 degree videos
  • Glide launched their first ever TV advert
  • WarwickNet tripled their number of live sites and increased their amount of premises passed to over 10,000
  • WarwickNet also came to the rescue of over 500 business in 2017

There is a lot to look forward to next year, but for now, we would like to thank everyone who made 2017 an amazing year!
