With the internet becoming increasingly vital to everyone’s day-to-day life, LivingCom strive to stay ahead of the game and anticipate the demands of the sector. With Young Professionals making up the majority of households in Build to Rent, a fast internet connection is no longer a luxury, but a necessity. In line with this increasing need for superfast connectivity, LivingCom developed their Smart Fibre Infrastructure™ (SFI™) solution.
SFI™ sets the LivingCom service apart in the sector by offering a faster and simpler way to cable a building, helping to add rental value and significantly reducing operational costs. Running over a single seamless fibre network instead of multiple cables to each floor, fibre has no need for switches or fans. With SFI™, buildings are effectively future-proofed for the next 25 years, as there are no restrictions on what can be delivered via fibre. SFI™ also enables the provision of many smart technology services such as Wi-Fi controlled lighting and heating, door entry, CCTV, digital signage and smart metering.
However, full fibre to the premises (FTTP) technology is nothing new. LivingCom are experienced at delivering fibre solutions, and have successfully installed SFI™ in sites throughout the UK. Most notably, residents at the Cargo Building, located at Liverpool’s trendy Baltic Triangle and one of the largest PRS schemes outside of London, have benefitted from LivingCom’s instant superfast connectivity from day one of their tenancies. LivingCom are also installing SFI™ in various other residential projects in the UK, by working alongside key developers in the sector such as Moda Living.
SFI™ utilises the VertiCasa™ cable system from Prysmian which is designed specifically to bring optical fibre directly to residents, providing a fast and flexible means of connecting users.
